What would happen if you came across something that the previous owners had literally embedded into their floor plan? What if it was a safe? Here’s the story of Eddie and Angie and their fascinating kitchen renovation surprise discovery. Here is how things unfolded, how they managed to get the secret code for the safe, and how much money they found, not to mention the few added surprises inside as well.
They moved into their fixer upper home two years ago and finally were ready to tackle the kitchen. Upon tearing up the floors, they found a safe!
Two years ago they came across a safe code in one of the cabinets. Not seeing any safe in the house they disregarded it, yet something told them to hang on to it.
It turns out the code opened the kitchen floor safe!
They freaked out over the contents inside. So much so that the boyfriend made sure the safe wasn’t booby trapped before reaching inside to grab the contents.
The grand total? $51,080.
But that wasn’t all. There was also a very rare bottle of James E Pepper Bourbon from 1960!
There was also a book with a very curious title, and one that was quite fitting for the experience that Eddie and Angie were currently having. “A Guide for the Perplexed” by E.F. Schumacher, published in 1977.

On the back of the photo, it read: “Alan,
I have a book you must read. I’ve underlined a few key passages.
Your friend,
Vincent”
A card of Arizona was also in the book, likely serving as a bookmark.
More mystery and intrigue as one of the passages that were underlined in the book read:
“One way of looking at the world as a whole is by means of a map, that is to say, some sort of plan or outline that shows where various things are to be found.”
Another photo, this time of a house.
On the back of the photo someone wrote: “Where one tree becomes three”
Does this place look familiar to anyone?
Another underlined passage: “Most Modern Readers will be reluctant to believe that perfect happiness is attainable by methods of which their modern world knows nothing.”
Then there was a bingo card with three numbers circled. The safe they just cracked had a three number code. Could this be for another safe?
The couple is unsure what to do with the dough. They suppose they should try to give it to this Alan fellow if he surfaces. There’s no question what they are going to do with the Bourbon though. If Alan surfaces, they will give him the bottle back. But it will definitely be empty.
