A small dolphin is scooped up right out of the sea off the coast of Argentina. Beachgoers quickly gather around.
A young dolphin has died after beachgoers took it from the sea to pose for photographs with it.
An enormous crowd formed around this small animal. This took place at the beach resort at Santa Teresita in Argentina. A man plucked it out of the sea.
While out of the water, it began to overheat. And then it died.
But this didn’t stop beachgoers from passing around the dead dolphin. And proceeding to take “selfie” photos with it.
When the selfie photo session was over, the dead dolphin was simply tossed to the side, where it lay dead in the sand.

The dolphin was left on the sand after it died
These dolphins are commonly found off the coasts of Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil, but there are only 30,000 left in the world and they are considered extremely vulnerable.
This incident has caused the Argentine Wildlife Foundation to issue a statement to the public regarding the mammal’s extreme vulnerability. They naturally wish to prevent such highly ignorant actions and the resulting tragedy from occurring again.

A large crowd gathered around the dolphin
Here is the statement that was made regarding the vulnerability of this dolphin, and why you are going to kill this animal if you don’t return it to water immediately.
“The Franciscana, like other species, cannot remain for much time outside of the water, it has thick fatty skin which gives it heat and means that taking it out of the water rapidly causes it to dehydrate and die. This occasion serves to inform the public about the urgent necessity to return these dolphins to the sea as soon as possible if they find them on the shore. It is fundamental that people help to rescue these animals, because every Franciscana counts now.”
Very sad on the loss of this dolphin, and extremely pathetic regarding the actions of the humans involved in this incident.
